Who can use Deskwell

You must be at least 13 years old to have a Deskwell account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission before signing up, and you must have that permission before starting a paid plan. We ask for your date of birth when you first sign in only to check your age; for eligible new accounts, we keep the 13+ result rather than the full date.

Your account

You can sign in with an email address and password, or with Google. Your Deskwell account is separate from your ChatGPT account and from any school account — you do not need a school email to use it. Keep your sign-in secure, use your own account rather than sharing one, and tell us if you think someone else has access to it. You are responsible for what happens in your account.

What Deskwell is — and what it is not

Deskwell is a study and productivity tool that uses AI. It can be wrong. It can state something false with complete confidence, misread a document, get maths wrong, or invent a source that does not exist. Always check anything that matters before you rely on it or hand it in. Deskwell is not a teacher, a tutor you can hold responsible, or a substitute for your own understanding, and it does not give legal, medical, or financial advice.

Schoolwork and academic honesty

Your school sets the rules about what help is allowed on your work, and those rules come first. Deskwell is built to help you learn, research, organise, and produce work — not to help you pass off work as your own when your school has said not to. Using Deskwell in a way that breaks your school’s academic-integrity policy is between you and your school, and it is your responsibility, not ours.

Acceptable use

Do not use Deskwell to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, to generate sexual content involving minors, to create malware, to attempt to break into the service or other people’s accounts, to resell or automate access, or to get around the usage limits on your plan. We can suspend or close accounts that do these things.

Your content

Your chats, projects, files, and memories belong to you. We store them so the product works for you, and we do not sell them. To answer you, the text and files you send are processed by our AI provider. We do not use your schoolwork to train our own models. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

Plans, payment, and renewal

Deskwell has a free trial with a fixed, one-time allowance that does not reset, and a paid Plus plan with a daily allowance. Both plans have usage limits, shown on your Account page. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach Deskwell. Prices and limits can change; if they do, we will tell you before the change affects a renewal.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your Account page. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for. If something goes wrong — you were charged twice, the service was broken, or you cancelled and were billed anyway — email us within 14 days and we will refund you. Beyond that, payments for periods you have already used are generally not refunded.

Ending your account

You can stop using Deskwell whenever you want. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we are required to close by law, or that is being used in a way that damages the service. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any unused paid time.

Availability and liability

Deskwell is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that its answers will be correct. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of Deskwell — including a grade you received, work you lost, or a decision you made based on something it told you. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If the update is significant, we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Continuing to use Deskwell after an update means you accept it.
